🛒 1. Please Purchase Carefully

BooksChor operates through a multi-channel inventory and fulfilment system.

Our books and other products may be listed simultaneously across BooksChor and third-party marketplaces.

When an order is placed, it may automatically affect:

  • 📦 Stock availability
  • 🔄 Listings on other sales channels
  • 🏷️ Product status
  • 💷 Platform-specific pricing
  • 📊 Inventory allocation
  • 🚚 Dispatch and fulfilment workflows

Prices may vary between different sales platforms because marketplace commissions, payment fees, fulfilment charges, promotions and other selling costs can differ.

For this reason, customers should carefully check the title, author, ISBN, edition, format, condition, quantity, price and delivery information before completing payment.

Please purchase only products that you genuinely intend to buy.

🚫 2. Order Cancellation Before Dispatch

Our customer-query, inventory, storage and dispatch operations may be handled through separate systems or locations.

Orders can enter processing very quickly after payment.

For this reason:

We cannot guarantee that an order can be cancelled or stopped once it has been placed.

An order may already have:

  • Been allocated from stock
  • Entered the dispatch queue
  • Updated other marketplace listings
  • Triggered inventory synchronisation
  • Changed platform-specific availability or pricing

If you contact us immediately after ordering, we will make reasonable efforts to determine whether the order can still be stopped.

However, pre-dispatch cancellation requests are not guaranteed once processing has begun.

📧 Contact: info@globaltranslators.co.uk

Please include your order number.

This operational policy does not remove any statutory cancellation rights that apply after delivery.

⚖️ 3. UK Statutory Cancellation Rights

For eligible standard goods bought online by UK consumers, applicable consumer law generally provides a right to notify us of cancellation within 14 days after receiving the goods.

After notifying us, the goods should normally be returned within a further 14 days.

You do not normally need to provide a reason for exercising this statutory right.

Certain products may be legally exempt, including qualifying personalised or custom-made goods.

Nothing in this policy removes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

📅 4. BooksChor 30-Day Return Procedure

In addition to statutory rights, BooksChor generally allows eligible return requests to be raised within 30 days of the date of sale, subject to the conditions in this policy.

Before returning any item, you must contact us and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA).

Your RMA will normally be your BooksChor order number.

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk

Returns sent without prior authorisation may be delayed while we attempt to identify the order and return reason.

The 30-day BooksChor return procedure is an additional commercial policy and does not reduce statutory consumer rights.

📦 5. Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Deliveries

We strongly recommend inspecting your order immediately after delivery.

If you receive:

  • 📦 A transit-damaged parcel
  • An incorrect book or product
  • A missing item
  • ⚠️ A visibly defective product
  • 🔢 An incorrect edition or format compared with your order

please contact us preferably within 48–72 hours of confirmed delivery.

Early reporting allows us to investigate carrier and fulfilment issues efficiently.

Please provide clear photographs where relevant showing:

  • The product
  • The outer packaging
  • Any damage
  • The shipping label

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk

The 48–72 hour reporting request helps us investigate transit claims but does not remove statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods.

📍 6. Return Address

Unless we provide different instructions, authorised returns should be sent to:

BooksChor – Returns
c/o Global Translators UK Ltd
33 Cloisterham Road
Rochester
Kent
ME1 2BW
United Kingdom

Please do not visit the address for an unarranged return or exchange.

🧾 7. What to Include With Your Return

Please include a note containing:

  • 🧾 Order number
  • 👤 Full name
  • 🏠 Address
  • 🔢 RMA/reference number
  • 📚 Product being returned
  • 💬 Reason for return

Please:

  • Put your return address on the outer packaging
  • Package the product securely
  • Include accessories or enclosures originally supplied
  • Obtain proof of postage
  • Use tracked delivery where reasonably practical

📚 8. Condition of Returned Books

Returned books should be kept in a condition suitable for inspection and resale where the return is made under our additional 30-day commercial return policy.

Where applicable, they should:

  • 📖 Be clean and undamaged
  • ✍️ Contain no writing or highlighting
  • 💧 Show no water damage
  • 🚭 Be free from smoke or strong odours
  • 🐾 Be free from pet damage
  • 📦 Include original packaging where reasonably possible
  • 🔖 Include any supplied inserts or accessories
  • 📚 Have an undamaged spine, pages and cover

Books showing clear signs of reading, prolonged use, writing, highlighting, staining, torn pages or customer-caused damage may not qualify for our additional commercial return policy.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, customers may inspect goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature and characteristics.

Where handling goes beyond what would reasonably be permitted when examining the product in a shop and causes loss of value, an appropriate deduction may be made where legally permitted.

📕 9. Sealed & Collectable Books

Some books may be supplied:

  • In transparent protective wrapping
  • As collectors' editions
  • In presentation packaging
  • With bundled materials
  • As limited editions

For our additional 30-day goodwill return policy, we may require such products to remain unopened and in their original saleable condition.

Opening packaging does not automatically remove statutory rights where those rights apply.

🖨️ 10. Personalised & Custom-Made Products

Products made specifically to a customer's requirements may include:

  • Personalised books
  • Custom-printed publications
  • Bespoke editions
  • Individually printed materials
  • Products altered to customer specifications

Where the applicable legal exemption applies, personalised or custom-made goods are not eligible for ordinary change-of-mind cancellation or return.

They may still qualify for a remedy if they are:

  • Faulty
  • Damaged
  • Incorrect
  • Not as described

Customers should carefully check all personalised information before approving production.

🚚 11. Return Postage Costs

For ordinary change-of-mind returns where the customer is responsible for return postage:

The buyer pays the direct cost of returning the product.

BooksChor does not routinely provide free return labels.

Customers should:

  • Use suitable packaging
  • Apply sufficient postage
  • Obtain proof of posting
  • Consider tracked delivery

We do not accept responsibility for goods lost during a return arranged independently by the customer.

12. Underpaid Return Postage

Please ensure that the correct postage is applied based on:

  • Parcel dimensions
  • Thickness
  • Weight
  • Destination

We may decline parcels carrying unpaid or insufficient postage charges where we are reasonably entitled to do so.

Customers should keep proof of postage until their return has been completed.

🌍 13. International Returns

International customers must contact us before returning an item.

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk

Where customs documentation is required, the parcel should clearly state that it is a:

“RETURN TO SELLER”

Customers are responsible for correctly completing applicable customs declarations.

Where customs charges arise solely because the return has been incorrectly declared by the sender, we may seek to recover those costs where legally permitted.

💷 14. Refunds

Once an authorised return arrives, we will inspect it.

Where a refund is due, we aim to begin processing it promptly.

Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method, unless another lawful arrangement has expressly been agreed with the customer.

Your bank, card provider or payment provider may require additional processing time after BooksChor issues the refund.

⏱️ 15. Refund Processing Time

For straightforward approved returns, we aim to process the BooksChor side of the refund as quickly as reasonably possible after inspection.

Returns received at weekends or on public holidays may be processed on the next working day.

Where statutory cancellation rules apply, refunds will be completed within the time required by applicable consumer law.

💳 16. Statutory Cancellation Refunds

Where a UK consumer validly exercises a statutory cancellation right:

  • The eligible purchase price will be refunded
  • The standard outbound delivery charge will be refunded where required by law
  • Premium delivery upgrades above the standard delivery price need not be refunded where the law permits
  • The customer normally bears the direct cost of returning the goods where this was disclosed before purchase

We will not impose an arbitrary administration or restocking charge on a statutory cancellation refund.

A lawful deduction may be made where the customer has handled the goods beyond what is reasonably necessary and that handling has reduced their value.

📦 17. Additional 30-Day Goodwill Returns

A return falling outside statutory cancellation rights but within our additional 30-day commercial return proceduremay be subject to different conditions.

To qualify, the product should normally be:

  • Unused
  • Undamaged
  • Complete
  • In saleable condition
  • Returned with relevant packaging and accessories

Where a voluntary return results in genuine additional costs outside statutory protections, any proposed deduction will be explained before the return is finalised and will only be applied where lawful.

🚚 18. Original Delivery Costs

For a statutory cancellation, standard outbound delivery charges will be refunded where required by law.

Where a return is made only under our additional voluntary 30-day policy, original delivery or packaging costs may not necessarily be refundable.

This distinction will depend on the nature of the return and the customer's statutory rights.

⚠️ 19. Faulty or Misdescribed Products

BooksChor will not use this return policy to remove statutory rights relating to products that are:

  • Faulty
  • Not as described
  • Unsuitable for their stated purpose where applicable
  • Supplied incorrectly

If you believe a product has a genuine fault, please contact us:

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk

Include your order number and photographs where helpful.

📦 20. Return Transit Damage

Customers returning products are responsible for packaging them securely.

We strongly recommend:

  • Protective packaging
  • Correct postage
  • Proof of posting
  • Tracked delivery

If a customer-arranged return is damaged because it was inadequately packaged, this may affect the return or refund to the extent permitted by law.

🔍 21. Return Inspection & CCTV

For business security, fraud prevention and dispute resolution, returns may be opened and inspected in an area covered by CCTV recording.

Inspection may confirm:

  • The item returned matches the item supplied
  • The product's condition
  • Packaging condition
  • Whether parts are missing
  • Whether the product appears altered or substituted

CCTV and return-inspection information will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

🛡️ 22. Fraud Prevention

BooksChor reserves the right to investigate suspected return fraud or misuse.

Examples include:

  • Returning a different item
  • Substituting another edition or copy
  • Returning a product not purchased from BooksChor
  • Falsely claiming non-delivery
  • Deliberately damaging goods
  • Repeated misuse of goodwill policies
  • Providing misleading information about an order

Where appropriate, we may retain relevant evidence and defend our position through payment providers, marketplaces or other lawful dispute-resolution processes.

Nothing in this section permits us to deny a genuine statutory consumer right.

💳 23. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

If you believe there is a problem with an order, please contact us first so we have an opportunity to investigate.

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk

Where a chargeback or payment dispute is raised, we may provide relevant evidence to the payment provider, including:

  • Order information
  • Tracking
  • Proof of delivery
  • Customer communications
  • Return inspection records
  • Relevant photographs
  • CCTV evidence where appropriate and lawful

We will contest disputes where our records reasonably indicate that a claim is incorrect or fraudulent.

💬 24. Customer Communication

Our normal customer-service hours are:

🕘 Monday – Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm UK time

Weekend and public-holiday enquiries will normally be reviewed on the next working day.

When contacting us, please include your order number so we can locate the transaction efficiently.

Multiple messages concerning the same issue can slow investigation, so we recommend keeping correspondence within the same email thread wherever possible.

🤝 25. Respectful Communication

BooksChor aims to treat customers fairly and respectfully, and we expect the same courtesy towards our staff.

We will not tolerate:

  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Discriminatory abuse
  • Repeated abusive communications

Where necessary, abusive communication may be restricted while still providing reasonable channels for legitimate consumer or legal matters.

🚪 26. No Unscheduled Walk-Ins

BooksChor operates separate arrangements for:

  • 📦 Dispatch
  • 🏢 Storage
  • 💬 Customer enquiries
  • 🔄 Returns processing

We therefore do not accommodate:

  • Unscheduled walk-ins
  • Unannounced doorstep returns
  • Unscheduled exchanges
  • Cold calling at operational locations

In-person returns or collections are permitted only where expressly arranged in advance.

Storage retrieval may require prior notice.

Please arrange any appointment through:

📧 info@globaltranslators.co.uk
📞 +44 7883 024604

🧾 27. Proof of Purchase

We may request reasonable proof that an item was purchased from BooksChor.

Evidence may include:

  • Order confirmation
  • Order number
  • Receipt
  • Payment record
  • BooksChor packaging or documentation

⚖️ 28. Your Statutory Consumer Rights

This policy operates alongside applicable consumer law.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or misrepresent rights that cannot legally be excluded.

For UK consumers, relevant legislation may include the:

  • Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013

Where this commercial policy provides less protection than a mandatory statutory right, the statutory right takes precedence.
